Why are you not like the other kids?
I feel that question, deeply. I recognized I wasn’t like the other kids at the age of six, when I had a crush on a girl rather than a boy. As I continued to grow, I saw that I wasn’t like the other kids because I didn’t grow my breast or have a period like the other kids in my school until a later age of fifteen years old. After reaching those milestones in my life, it soon led to showing me how I’m really not like the other kids, when my absent seizures turned into Grand mal seizures and I had to be homeschooled that same year at fifteen. Going through seventeen plus seizures a day and then surviving brain surgery at the age of seventeen, I knew I had a bigger reason of existence. I had a second chance at living and redefining my story to really being not like the other kids and being compassionate, fearless, courageous to be authentically myself and open to growing and experiencing because my reality can be ripped from me in the matter of seconds, being epileptic.
Developing a platform and birthing a business that revolves around my truest passions, while influencing communities worldwide, makes me, unlike the other kids.
The kind of kids I am like, though, in our own beautiful ways, are the ones who understand the beauty of life and the sensitivity it holds. Who know the importance of care and love whether it be internally or externally as a collective.
I’m not like the other kids because I define things in accordance to what makes sense to my mind, heart and soul while in attempt to influence, educate and inspire those around the world.
