McCown High School Students Collin and Lucas Launch Faded Minds Clothing, INTERVIEW

Student entrepreneurs Collin and Lucas turned their dreams of launching a clothing brand into reality. The launch took place during an afterschool program at McCown High School in Staten Island, facilitated by Sundog Theatre as part of the SMART Money Program under the mentorship of Teaching Artist/Stereotype Co founder Dave Noodlez. Over a span of eight weeks, the students accomplished several goals, including crafting a business plan, designing logos, creating shirts, hand-painting one-of-a-kind beanies, and producing a commercial.

The collaboration between Collin, Lucas, and Dave shows the power of mentorship and community support in nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit among young individuals. The afterschool program created an environment that fostered creativity, innovation, and collaboration. By harnessing the passion and talent of these young entrepreneurs, the program empowered them to transform their ideas into a tangible reality.

Stereotype Co. brought the vision to life by creating final graphics and producing products inspired by the student’s sketches.

This partnership serves as an inspiration for young individuals across the nation, emphasizing the importance of mentorship, community support, and access to resources in fostering the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
