Ignis et Glacie: A Night of Underground Hip-Hop Culture at Hub 17

January 16th, 2026 - Stereotype Co hosted the Ignis et Glacie Mixtape Release Party at Hub 17 Media Center, and it was a night for the books.

St. Thrillah set the vibe, spinning his beats alongside tracks from other underground Staten Island producers. The listening session had its own energy - what made it special was watching artists react when their tracks came on. KDHN, Pretty Boy Lou, Nu in the Shu, and MC Remark all spontaneously jumped up to perform their verses live. These weren't planned moments - they were pure and organic.

The open cipher brought artists to the mic to share verses that reminded everyone in the room why we do this. The networking and connections made that night have already sparked collaborations that are in the works.

the essence

"Growing up, mixtapes were always such an important part of my life," says Dave Noodlez, founder of Stereotype Co. "It means a lot to see a mixtape that features underground artists. Hip-hop, underground culture, and music have been so crucial to me, and it means a lot to see all this come together."

Mixtapes are cultural artifacts, snapshots of a moment in time, and platforms for artists who might not fit into mainstream boxes. The Ignis et Glacie mixtape continues that tradition.

Building Momentum

This is the second successful event Stereotype Co has hosted at Hub 17 Media Center in the past month. Following Givemas, the release party proved there's a hunger for authentic hip-hop experiences and spaces where underground culture can thrive.
