Art of Legend & Light: Robert Geronimo at the Garibaldi-Meucci Museum
Staten Island artist Robert Geronimo is exhibiting his work at the Garibaldi-Meucci Museum in Rosebank, and Stereotype Co will be there with the merch.
The exhibition, Art of Legend & Light, features Geronimo's dramatic black-and-white illustrations inspired by biblical narrative, classical mythology, and the fantasy world of Blood Realm. The show is on view from August 25 through October 16, with the opening reception this Sunday, September 13, from 2 to 4 PM. Parking is available across the street.
The exhibition was made possible by a DCLA Art Fund Grant from Staten Island Arts with public funding from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.
About the creator
Robert Geronimo is a Staten Island-based illustrator whose work draws from ancient history, mythology, and classical sculpture. His ink drawings are detailed, layered, and built with a reverence for the traditions that came before him. Art of Legend & Light is a continuation of that study — bringing those themes off the page and onto the walls of one of Staten Island's most historic landmarks.
Geronimo and Stereotype Co recently launched a collaboration — Gladiator Rising. The design features his "Fortes Fortuna Adiuvat" artwork, Latin for "Fortune Favors the Bold." T-shirts, crewnecks, and hoodies are available now, and Stereotype Co will have the merch on-site at the museum this Sunday.
