PS5 Smart Money Program x Sundog Theatre: 5th Graders Become Entrepreneurs
This past spring, David Nudelman teamed up with the PS5 Smart Money Program and Sundog Theatre to give 20 fifth graders an unforgettable crash course in entrepreneurship. Over the course of 15 weeks, students learned how to take an idea from concept to launch — creating real products, branding their businesses, and pitching their vision to the world.
The project split the class into four teams, each building their own unique brand:
Gecko Bottles – Reusable bottles and merch
QOA – Blinged out picture frames and custom accessories
5 Star – Custom made bead bracelets and slime creations
Get Drippy – One of a kind Streetwear custom tie-dyed
Along the way, students leveled up their entrepreneurial toolkit:
Designed their own business cards
Built websites for their brands
Crafted elevator pitches
Directed and produced their own commercials to promote their products
The journey all led up to a final pop-up shop event at PS5, where parents and the school community came out to shop, support, and celebrate these young entrepreneurs.
A special shout-out to Ms. Alessi for leading the way and creating the space for her students to explore big dreams.
📸 Photos by Lance Reha perfectly captured the energy, pride, and excitement of the day.
This collaboration wasn’t just about selling products — it was about building confidence, sparking creativity, and showing the next generation that their ideas matter.
