Not Even Snow Could Stop the Westerleigh Santa Parade

Fifth Annual Tradition Brings Holiday Magic to Staten Island

December 14, 2025 | Westerleigh, Staten Island, NY

When winter weather threatened to derail the fifth annual Westerleigh Santa Parade, the community showed up anyway. On Sunday, December 14th, families bundled up against the snow to line the streets of Westerleigh for a holiday tradition that's become a cornerstone of Staten Island's seasonal celebrations.

A Community That Shows Up

Starting at 1 PM from the Holy Family parking lot, the parade brought together volunteers, families, and community organizations for an afternoon of pure holiday spirit. Event organizer Stefanie Danza and the Westerleigh Kids team proved once again that dedication and community spirit can overcome any obstacle—even a snowstorm.

"Fifth year was a success. We didn't let the snow stop us! What a great day!" reflected Stefanie after the event wrapped.

Behind every successful community event is a team of dedicated volunteers who give their time and energy to make magic happen. This year's parade was no different. Special recognition went to Salvatore Danza and Loü Rubio Jr., who worked through the night to prepare and still showed up to lead the parade. Their commitment exemplifies what makes community events like this possible.

The success also depended on crucial support from all the drivers and volunteers who braved the weather, Troop 2 for their participation, and Breen's Brothers Towing for their logistical support.

Stereotype Co was proud to contribute to the parade's atmosphere by donating music and media support. As a Staten Island-based creative business, being part of community celebrations like this connects directly to our mission of helping creators and organizations amplify their impact.

As the fifth annual Westerleigh Santa Parade wraps up another successful year, it's clear this tradition has deep roots in the community. From working through snowstorms to coordinating dozens of volunteers, organizers like Stefanie Danza and the Westerleigh Kids team have created something special. To everyone who participated, volunteered, or simply showed up to watch: you made this event what it was. Here's to many more years of holiday magic in Westerleigh.
