Why did you make this short film?
I made this film because I wanted to do something fun and quirky with an adult edge on it. I’m hugely inspired by shows like The Marvelous Adventures of Flapjack and South Park.
What inspired the title 'Sweet Toof'?
The title “Sweet Toof” came after many titles... at first we had Sugar Rush, Sweet Toof, Sugary Thievery. I chose Sweet Toof because the name was unique and really stuck with me as something memorable. The f in tooth just adds a really cute twist on the film since they’re a cat and a little girl.
Who helped make this short film what it is? Writers, Producers, Muses, Support System, Etc
A majority of the film I did myself. From set design to character modeling to lighting. My boyfriend Jordan Garay (t.h.0.t.p.0.c.k.e.t.) helped me with writing key funny moments. I had a friend Andres Rodriguez (@sanandres340) help me out with providing assets to fill up some of my sets. Him and a friend Nelli Toh (@nelli.toh) heavily assisted me with animation. The music in the beginning scenes was composed by Anthony Taylor. (im_just_squidding) I had a great crew of supporting friends and my siblings kept me sane through it all.
What is your favorite scene? Why?
My favorite scene has to be the scene where the cat is snorting smarties. I think it’s really a relatable scene, hear me out haha. I’m elementary school there were two fake “drugs” our friends would pretend to do, the candy cigarettes and snorting smarties. That joke really landed with the audience.
What is your dream now that you just accomplished this dream?
My next big project is under development now, and should be released in a year and a half!
Have you ever been Stereotype'd? Tell us more
I usually get stereotyped because of my background, my piercings, my tattoos, and the way I dress. I’m going to an affluent type of art school with my lower middle class background. I usually face a lot of prejudice when it comes to these things. People usually think they’ll effect my work ethic and define me as a person.
Have you ever broke a Stereotype someone had of you? Tell us about it
I tend to break these stereotypes by displaying my work and my work ethic to everyone around me. I really try to always push myself to be better, despite what people think of me. I let my work speak for itself most of the time.
