Pseudonym - Mz. Leebra Clark 'Kiss It Better' Interview | Respect the Author

Where are you from?

Born and raised in Atlanta, GA

Tell us the story of how you got into writing

I can't remember not reading and writing. My sister was 11 years older than me so I kinda grew up like an only child. Living in a single-parent home and with my mom always reading romance novels, she would always buy me books that would interest me. I remember wanting to come up with my own stories so I began writing little short stories here and there until I finally wrote my first full-length novel and had it published.

What was your favorite book growing up?

My favorite book growing up was The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Soulja.

What is your favorite book as an adult?

One of my favorite books as an adult outside of my own would be A Hustler's Wife by Nikki Turner.

What is the name of your new book?

Kiss It Better is my most recent release.

What inspired you to write the book?

I was inspired by the male exotic dancer Bolo the Entertainer. Just thinking about how far some women may go to indulge in the feeling of being seduce by a man like him.

Tell us more about your new book

Getting married should be one of the best days in a woman’s life, too bad this wasn’t the case for Tracie Wright. Walking down the aisle on her big day was becoming something that she was beginning to dread. Not sure that she was making the right decision by marrying her high school sweetheart Sean Mitchell, Tracie decides to have one last night of fun as a bachelorette to help shake her cold feet. Her plan backfires when Tracie finds herself naked in a hotel room next to a man that’s not Sean. Now even more confused than before, Tracie is not sure what to do and the countdown to her wedding is just around the corner. Is Tracie ready to shake the jitters and finally settle down to become Mrs. Mitchell, or did she find someone who could Kiss It Better?

Where do you go to get into writing mode?

I have to write on a desktop computer. It really places me in the mood to write. Writing on a laptop just doesn't do it for me. I don't need to listen to music unless I'm writing a sex scene. With my sex scenes, I really have to set the vibe; lights low, candles lit, slow sensual music in the background.

Who needs to read this book?

Anyone can read this book, married, single, or dating. There are some lessons that everyone can take away from my book no matter their relationship status. This isn't your average romance novel...if it's even considered that at all.
